Seeing red over tuk-tuks(툭툭이들에 칠한 빨간색을 보고..)
I have noticed that most, but not all, of the tuk-tuks in Phuket are red. Is this by law or convention?

(나는 전부는아니지만 대부분의 푸켓툭툭이들이 빨간색인 것을 주시해왔다. 이 것은 법에의한 것인가 아니면 관습인가?)

“Tuk-tuks in Phuket are red by agreement of the tuk-tuk operators. When the PPTO first started registering tuk-tuks, the sole tuk-tuk association at that time chose to use red – there is no regulation or law stipulating that a tuk-tuk must be a specific color.(푸켓의 툭툭이들은 툭툭 운영업자들의 협정에 의해 빨간색이 된 것이다. PPTO(푸켓지역 운송 사무소)는 처음에 툭툭이를 등록시킬 때, 그 당시에 하나밖에 없었던 툭툭이 협회는 빨간색을 선택해서 사용하기로 했다.-툭툭이를 특정한 색으로 해야한다고 규정하는 규제나 법은 존재하지 않았다)

There are three large tuk-tuk operators in Phuket: Thavorn Co, Saha Yanyont Co and Ruamjai Yanyont Co. Their tuk-tuks can be identified by little differences, such as a logo or yellow stripes on the sides the vehicle.(푸켓에는 3개의 커다란 툭툭이 운영업자들이 있다. Thavorn Co, Saha Yanyont Co 그리고 Ruamjai Yanyont Co 가 그런 회사들이다. 그들의 툭툭이들은 약간의 차이에 의해 구별되는데, 로고 또는 차량양쪽에 있는 노란줄과 같은 것이 바로 그것이다.

There are some blue and some green tuk-tuks in Phuket, which were registered by personal operators before the three main companies registered.(푸켓에는 몇개의 푸른색과 녹색툭툭이들이 있는데 그 것들은 3개의 주요 툭툭이 회사들이 등록하기전 개인업자들이 등록한 것들이다.)

Phuket currently has about 1,200 tuk-tuks and the PPTO will not permit more. So we will not see tuk-tuks in any other colors on the island. ”(푸켓은현재 약 1,200개의 툭툭이가 있고, PPTO는 더 이상 허락하지 않을것이고, 따라서 우리는 이섬에서(푸켓에서) 다른 색깔을 갖고 있는 툭툭이는 보지 못할 것이다.)
