일부 지역에 호우 주의보를 발령 했습니다.

Chanthaburi, Trat, Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi may be hit by flash floods

The Meteorological Department Wednesday warned residents of Chanthaburi, Trat, Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi to brace themselves for heavy rains and possible flash floods.

The department said in its morning forecast that a low pressure ridge over the central and eastern regions coupled with influence of the southwest monsoon would trigger rains in many parts of the country.

The five provinces could be hardest hit by the rains, the department said.

It added that rains would fall in about 80 per cent of Bangkok's areas.

The trough of rather active low pressure lies across central and eastern Thailand through the low pressure cell in the coastal of south Vietnam, and the southwest monsoon dominates over the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand and the Gulf. Abundant rains with isolated heavy rains are likely over the country except the North. People in the risky areas, such as Chantaburi, Trat, Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi provinces should beware of flooding conditions during 1-2 days.
